Starting something new can feel like a lot. A yoga class has its own words, its own rhythm, and a room full of people who seem to know what they’re doing. The good news is that nobody expects you to arrive knowing anything.
Choose a class that meets you where you are
Look for sessions marked beginner or all levels. These classes move at a steadier pace and give you time to understand each shape before moving on.
Let go of the perfect pose
Every body is different. Your version of a pose may look nothing like the person next to you, and that’s the point. Notice how it feels rather than how it looks.
A small practice to try
Tonight, sit or lie comfortably for two minutes. Breathe in through your nose for a count of four and out for a count of six. That’s it. That’s practice.
Your practice does not need to be perfect to be meaningful. Start with what feels manageable, and let consistency grow over time.
